Now this is the way to stir the pot! "Alinghi is very proud of the 14/16/18/20 teams entered in what may or may not be the 33rd America's Cup, yet we all know that a number of the teams are pipe dreams at best. Alinghi's last-minute push for challengers of questionable viability is clearly a move to influence the NY Court of Appeals, while at the same time casting a shadow on Auckland's upstart Louis Vuitton Pacific Series – and today is the deadline for entries. When we learned that Alinghi waived the entry fee for a number of prospective challengers, a light bulb went off here at SAYC headquarters: We have our own bona fide Yacht Club. With the inaugural CHAW, we “have” an annual regatta on the ocean, and we have thousands of members – many of them with the skill and experience to match some of the other challengers - at least. And we're likely to be in existence long after all of them. So we entered. We'll let you know how that turns out." This should be a right laugh, Hopefully it will allow SA into the meetings to get a better & less bais veiw point then the PR machine gives out to the masses.we may hopefully find out what is actually going on!.But I douth it I think they`ll cotton on Rock on SA |

just when politics and litigation was starting to make you too jaded about this sport something like this happens and makes you feel good about the world again. I really hope this sticks and they get to race.

FOR REAL To those of you who thought that our Anarchy Challenge AC entry was a joke: Think again. Our first Press Release has gone out - an appropriately collaborative effort that we think sheds some light on our reasons for trying to enter the 33rd America's Cup. Enjoy. This is the follow up should be good, god I`m loving this! Edited by bert |

I was reading this yesterday on SA and it's fantastic. Apparently most of the crew want paying in beer.

Apparently EB might of helped if SA hadn't been so nasty towards him.

Thats pretty much the underlaying point.. . At best its descriminatory, and at worst its illegal. They would have been better of allowing SA in without a fight and hoping that they ran our of time, money, or momentum to continue on their own. As it is EB has displayed his dark side to the world once again and he has only managed to motivate the comunity further. |
