A recent spate of thefts at Seaview, Isle of Wight has seen 3 Lasers and a Laser Pico stolen within the last two weeks. The first boat to be stolen was recovered last week after an unsuspecting buyer spotted it on the StolenBoats.org.uk website and alerted the local police. A Laser Pico was then stolen on the 29th July and then on the 3rd August two Lasers, number 151064 and 179095, were also reported missing. Anyone with information about these thefts is urged to contact either Noble Marine, Hampshire Police or submit a tip off through the StolenBoats.org.uk website. Stolen Laser 179095 http://www.stolenboats.org.uk/view.php3?q=1086 In addition to these thefts, a 4th Laser, number 147091 was stolen from Lake Coniston on 6th August. http://www.stolenboats.org.uk/view.php3?q=1102 |

By tracing the stolen boats, it leads to the means of the theft, the criminal and helps to provent future boat crime, which in turn is good for the sport in eliminating boat theft. It's a bit of a no-brainer isn't it? |

Can you get all your customers to put a sticker on their boat saying "nick this - no-one cares" please. Also could you post your company name to the forum on www.ilikedefraudinginsurancecompanies.co.uk so that folk now which companies to target for the old "honest guv, someone nicked it" scam... Thanks, British Boat Fraud society... (maybe you shouldn't have posted that: you'd better hope your boss isn't reading!!) Edited by JimC |

That may be the case, but don't you think that it is kind of dumb to actually say it out loud on a public forum! |
