well im probabley a bit biased, but i think the buzz is a stable boat, very good for learning to trapeze and assy spinnis. Has quite a few problems thats could be sorted, such as the rudder stalls quite a lot and i think it could perhaps do with a bigger kite , and lets not get started on the weight of the hull. Very nice circuit with friendly competitors, and a good laugh.

I enjoyed sailing the Buzz a few times, JP makes very good points about the boat.......I actually prefered it to the Spice and the RS400. We sailed the 400 in the morning and the Buzz in the afternoon one time and were so glad to get into the Buzz, felt more at home in it just because it was a more lively boat. My brother had a 3000 which we sailed a few times, loved it when it was windy but in the lighter stuff, we did really notice the weight on-board. Both are good teaching platforms and there's not too much in it to say which is the better boat. Suprised no-one has mentioned the RS500 yet........... |

I am biased but a 4000 for class racing, socials etc can't be beaten. Especially when you are rolling over 10ks worth of b14! :)

4k will easily carry more weight and accomodate the bigger sailors where as the 29er is for the samller youth sailors. 4k is a lot more over engeneered than the 29er so less likly to break in a good blow. 4k is a lot cheaper than the 29er |

Go Big or Go home or sail a 49er!!!

Than the buzz and 3000?? Substantially quicker both upwind and downwind. Although not too sure how the lighter V3000 will compare. If your asking how much faster is a 29er than a 4000? Then thats an ongoing question with many conflicting views that i dont think you'll get a certified answer on this forum. |
