Starting Light sequences?

We're setting up a light system to run alongside a new computerised start, race recording system and I wondered what other folk use for their start sequence.

We're thinking Blue on at the 10 minute (we tend to use the ten minute to get all the dawdlers off the beach) then we go 5 -4 1 Off,

So we'd go red amber then all off and green for go or red 5 amber 4, green 1 and all off at the gun.

Anyone else run similar system with lights?

Try contacting either Starcross (on Exe estuary) or Southport (marine lake on coast above Liverpool) as both run lights for start sequences.

Hmm not many clearly, maybe when we get this system up and running it could be of interest, the nerve centre is a tablet controlled device that can be taken out on the water, or to another venue, (we run a distance event annually a to b) so we can start one end and finish the other.

Can't remember the name of the guy doing it, he's a GP14 man so had my doubts initially but it all seems to be pretty kosher.

We've settled on Blue at the 10, then Red at the five, Amber at the four and Green on the one, then all out on the off. It won't be very useful for those of us that like to use the sound delay off shore by going a split second before the sound reaches the line having set the watch up inshore, but a little more precise than waiting for flags to move.
