Hafren making great progress - just rounded Selsey Bill at 1600 today and heading for the Eastern Solent

Anyone out for a sail this evening in the Solent who knows what they are doing and want to go say hello, I'm sure they would love to say hi - their tracker is http://yb.tl/hafren2014?ignoreUA=true - and their jib has an orange flash on it.

They plan to make Lymington tonight (it will prob be very late with the adverse tides) but then will get going tomorrow hoping to get to Caste Cove SC at Weymouth prob between 1400 - 1600 on Weds.

Again... anyone who wants to go say hi I am sure would be most welcome.

A nice place to stop. Looks like they will have to open the bar a little earlier at Castle Cove tomorrow!

They have done amazingly well. Probably an unbeatable record because the weather has been so good for then. I wonder how many hours they actually had to beat into the wind on their way round.

I expect people will try it in faster dinghies (National 18, anyone?) which might do it faster, but agree they have had great weather and it will be very hard to better.

Hmmm - half the time.  Perhaps they should do a Moitissier and go round again!

Fan bloody tastic. What an awesome achievement. At 14:00 this afternoon on the dot, Jeremy & Phil sailed Hafren into Portland Harbour and Castle Cove SC to complete their circumnavigation of Great Britain in an amazing time of 32days!

What a great adventure and what a result. Well done those chaps and great that the Grauniad had an article on it as well. Dinghy sailing at its best.

1/2 a dozen wayfarers next and make it a race? Maybe Volvo will sponsor it!

Bloody amazing effort by these guys, and makes me realize how blinkered we can be when mucking around in boats as to what it is possible to do.
