Not North Berwick but Holy Island. What a landfall! This is just a stunning achievement.

+1. Winds look set fair North to North East for the next few days if a bit light.

Hafren update:
The guys left Bridlington this morning and are well passed Grimsby now, and heading out across the Wash to get around to Lowestoft. They have set themselves an improved target and are now aiming to finish in Weymouth next Friday evening at 7pm. Keep following their progress at www.xtremedinghycruising.com |

Jeremy & Phil have just arrived in Lowestoft, with time for a beer or two.

What a trip! Certainly a very competent pair! I'm just surprised, given their amazing progress, that their ETA at Weymouth is only Friday! Must be planning a few well earned R & R days on the way!! Respect!

I have been following their progress with interest. I don't know how they do it. At noon today they were doing 5.3 knots over the ground heading South West off Aldeburgh directly into (if Windguru is correct) a 4kt South Westerly! Must be a lot of tide!!

They've been very lucky with the wind so far. They set off early today knowing that the wind was due to swing around to the SW and go light. Just got to Felixstowe Ferry and appears like they may be stopping to wait for the next tidal window.

Just got back from my race officer duty, and checked Team Hafren's position, and they are just going past Deal in Kent. iGRF you'll have to go and wave them by in a few hours!
There is a possibility that the guys are going to pull forward their ETA in Weymouth to Tuesday! |
