Hi all. I'm new to this forum but have been reading through with some interest as my father in law has been mentioned more than once. Greg Gregory. He built Cherubs to his own designs in the 60's as well as 1 or 2 other types most notably the Ghost. It's with sadness that I report his death on the 12/12/13 at the age of 79 following a long fight with Alzheimer's. He had a brilliant brain, was way before his time in his innovative thinking on design concepts. Ironic that his brain is the thing he lost. Any information/stories on Greg will be much appreciated....

Sad to hear of your loss. Hopefully someone will be able to chip in with something.

So sorry to hear this news. Spent many happy times in my youth crewing in Greg 6 Cherubs. Great boats. Respect to the man.

A very, very cruel disease that seems to take the thinkers. Condolences to you and your family. Brave of you to post. We absolutely need dementia to be far, far more in the public arena.

Greg was a real innovative force at the time and as one who has recorded the facts behind his 'Ghost' dinghy (think a 15ft Cherub with a 9ft pole and reaching spinnaker) was often well ahead of his time. A sad loss of a man who deserves more credit than he gets!

I didn't know Greg personally, but as a Merlin Rocket designer in the 70s I was amazed and intrigued by Greg's radical 'Ghost Rider' design. It was so different from anything else that was around at the time (or since) yet was incredibly successful. It was clearly the product of a fertile and original mind.
