Not being into keelboats, but that new J70 looks the business. It not cheap either at 30K + sails and a trailer..

I was almost thinking of going to see the crit racing at the bike show. Laziness and the light dusting of snow will stop me. Definitely a reflection of how far the Boat Show has fallen that there's four other shows and a huge area taken up by a bike race circuit. I appreciate Excel has expanded a bit, but that's still a massive reduction in Boat Show floor space. Saw someone from a sailmaker earlier this week bemoaning how tiny it was, how easy it was to get round the stalls due to lack of people and the sheer number of magnetic bracelet and associated scammery stalls. |

I will be there on Friday with mrs johnW.
Looking for a sailing holiday with boatshow discount and will also take a look t the bike show as I plan to treat myself to a new road bike soon. Will also be keeping bored sales people busy showing me around the biggest yachts that I can find (that I certainly can't afford). |

They must have been doing some deals.. but there is more of a dinghy presence there this year than I've seen for the last couple, RS are there, and not sure how mnay else I'll be checking them out tomorrow, i only caught a bit of a glimpse on the way to and from the Guiness stand today.
Saw that new Supernova, that looks like a whole other boat now, very well sorted, will be having another look at that if I get a moment. Our bit was really busy, the bike show has grown again, loads to see, it's quite a neat show now with all that's going on from the three sports, plus the gin palaces and their champagne stands, that's another world. I've been going the best part of forty years now, and I had to reflect today on the fact I'm no nearer owning one of those monstrosities now than I was the first year I went back in the early seventies. Anyway if you're up there I'll be there again tomorrow and probably venturing to see Arthur around 4 as is my way and I'll be happy to let you buy me a pint.. Edited by iGRF - 17 Jan 13 at 9:53pm |
