They were also recording speeds of over 43 knots. No matter your feeling on th eAC format these are impressive machines and i would love to go for a ride on one.

Interesting that they reckon the beam fairing was actually creating apreciable aero-lift!

I am probably missing something, but why were they concerned at foiling upwind, surely this is considerably faster

I imagine it has to do with control. If the boat is being lifted by the fairing, then there is likely to be a crash.
Or does the AC prohibit upwind foiling? |

they are a one off case, but i do think that if they were foiling upwind they wouldnt have buried it on the bear away |
