A RORC classic, the renowned Cowes – Dinard – St Malo Race has its roots in a pre-World War I race from Cowes to St Malo, thus predating the Rolex Fastnet Race. Competitors flock from both sides of the Channel for a chance to win the prestigious King Edward VII Cup donated by His Majesty in 1906. The 150 mile cross-Channel course takes competitors from the Royal Yacht Squadron line to finish just outside the entrance to St Malo. After finishing, competitors traditionally enjoy the party atmosphere of Bastille Day celebrations culminating in a superb firework display. A beautiful, historic city, St Malo’s old town is today known for having the highest concentration of restaurants in Europe.
