Event: Walter Smith trophy
25 Sep 2016
Open to these classes: The Firefly class at the Chipstead Sailing Club is delighted to host our annual Open Meeting, racing for the Walter Smith trophy, in constant competition since 1959.
The event also forms part of the Firefly class two travellers competitions, the Vines Trophy (round 7, the final and prize giving to be held at West Oxfordshire SC, 22 October) and round 2 (from 4) of the M25 Trophy.
Race officer's briefing will be at 10.30, with three races planned.
All friends, family members, pit crews and technical advisers are especially welcome to join us for the day, and enjoy the club's facilities. Our newly appointed club caterers will be preparing bacon butties and breakfasts followed by light lunches.
Afternoon tea will be served together with the Club's world renowned cake.
The lake is large enough to provide interesting and amusing racing for the seasoned racer, and yet compact enough to provide confident sailing conditions for the less experienced.
Launching can be from pontoons, no need even for wet feet!
The clubhouse offers all the usual facilities and excellent views over the race track from our verandas.
Near Sevenoaks, Kent, find us just off the A21/A25 intersection, close to Junction 5 of the M25, postcode TN13 2SD, clubhouse telephone: 01732 454875.
