Cornish Crabbers is the much-loved local boat builder but this North Cornwall event is for Cornish Shrimpers only!
Peter Keeling Shrimper Week is one of the most important Shrimper events countrywide, with over thirty boats joining in. Here you will see all the Shrimper big issues fought out on the water across six races and 5 days; is older faster than newer, are outboards faster than inboards, how is it that older helms are often faster than young ones, and does starboard really have precedence over port? Replacement bowsprits are readily available from both Cornish Crabbers and the two boatyards up the road, and the club's excellent bar lubricates many a post-race debate.
If you are thinking of buying a Shrimper, this is a good opportunity to take a look and, if it's very windy, you might even find yourself on board as ballast.
