Hosted by the New York Yacht Club, the annual event this year precedes the biennial Newport Bermuda Race and serves as the first of three competitions to count in the venerable Onion Patch Series, which includes the Newport Bermuda Race. In addition to racing in the weekend series, all eligible yachts may also compete in Friday’s separately scored Around-the-Island Race. Entry is open to yachts with a minimum LOA of 25 feet in IRC, Classic, 12 Metre and One-Design classes as well as the recently introduced Cruiser-Racer and Double-handed divisions on “navigator” courses.
