EVENT POSTPONED DUE TO BAD WEATHER - PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR NEW DATE TO BE PUBLISHED SOON.
Originally called The Spring Regatta, where dinghies from Torbay would come and race in one central location.
Paignton Sailing Club wanted to create an iconic sailing event, that everyone would be talking about and saying “hey are you going to this”. This is how POSH came about, in the South West area there didn’t seem to be a single event just for Single Handed Dinghies. So it was decided that the Spring Regatta would have a makeover and become a single handed dinghy event. Hence the acronym POSH meaning Paignton Open for Single Handed dinghies.
The regatta will take place over two days, with three races scheduled each day, let’s hope the weather is kind to us!
There is an early entry fee, if paid before a certain date, included in every entry is a meal on Saturday night for all competitors, perfect time to catch up on the days racing and check out the results.
It is possible to launch at any tide state into the sheltered yet challenging waters of Torbay. There is easy access to the club with free parking within a few minutes of the club. Paignton Sailing Club are renowned for hosting several large Regattas including Laser World Qualifiers, Topper events and RS 100 and Scorpion nationals to name but a few.
We have had to cap entries to 120 boats in fear of having too many boats arrive. So if you have a single handed dinghy and fancy taking part in this prestigious event then Pre-Enter NOW to save disappointment. If you have any problems or queries please email us at sailing@paigntonsailingclub.com
