Sharpie

Sharpie

The Sharpie was designed in 1931 by the Kroger Brothers. Active class racing takes part in the UK, Holland, Germany and Portugal, though some original heavyweight sharpies still exist in Australia. The hull is made from mahogany planks on oak frames, with a gaff rig and a crew of two. The sail area was originally twelve square metres, but has now evolved to around sixteen square metres.
